Literature Text

You do not do, you do not do good anymore
You've lived so little for thirty years old
Barely daring, barely daring to breathe a word
That voice of yours is just a blur

Daddy, oh daddy I've had to kill you
I saw you there in the big, great blue
I'd pray for someone to recover you
I know what you did, oh I know what you did

I never could talk to you
I never could talk to you
I was too scared to tell you
Too scared to tell you
Daddy, daddy, you bastard
You bastard, I'm through

If I've killed one man, I've killed two
That vampire who dared to say he was you
You're the one who bit my heart in two
But I've tried to get back, back to you

I never could talk to you
I never could talk to you
I was too scared to tell you
Too scared to tell you
Daddy, daddy, you bastard
You bastard, I'm through

I never could talk to you
I never could talk to you
I was too scared to tell you
Too scared to tell you
Daddy, daddy, you bastard
You bastard, I'm through

There's a stake in your fat black heart
So twisted it's a work of art
A brute of a heart for a brute like you
So now it's time to take a bow
Daddy, daddy, you can lie down now
This song is based off of the Sylvia Plath poem 'Daddy'. I'm a huge fan of Sylvia Plath and 'Daddy' is one of my favorites. There's many lines in this song that are in the poem so if anyone deserves credit, it's Sylvia. This song is most definitely not from my point of view as I love my father, but something just came to me when I was reading 'Daddy' and I've wanted to do this for a while now.
